UPDATE: BBC reports that with 62% of the vote, the referendum to amend the Irish Constitution to allow same-sex marriage passed.

BBC reports that leaders on both sides of Ireland’s same-sex marriage debate agree ahead of the official count that gay marriage will pass. Ireland would make history as the first country to legalize same-sex marriage by a popular vote.
