Google scheduled a big, proper launch of the newest additions to their flagship Nexus line, including the long-awaited Nexus 4 iPhone-killing mobile phone, in New York City on October 29, 2012. Google should have read the tea leaves and known trouble laid waiting ahead when Hurricane Sandy forced them to cancel the offline launch and hold it online in its place.
Google began sales exclusively on its Play Store on November 13, 2012 in several countries around the world and sold out within minutes.Unfortunitely, the event was plagued with checkout errors like Nexus 4s disappearing from the virtual cart or messages telling the system was busy and to try again. Many of those that secured a phone were notified of shipping backorders.
